A suburban street at night, in dense fog. Streetlights lend an eerie yellow hue around trees in stark black silhouette.

Welcome to Weirding Words, the home of Mathew Gostelow's writing on the web.

I'm Mat. When I'm not being a dad/husband, or doing marketing stuff for my job, I write short stories and poems - often with a creepy, uncanny, or dreamlike mood.

The best place to read my work is in my very first collection, 'See My Breath Dance Ghostly', published by Alien Buddha and available to buy now.

I've also been lucky enough to be published in a number of literary magazines and anthologies over the past couple of years - both online and in print.

You can read a bit more about me HERE and find a chronological list of my publications HERE.

If you want to get in touch, you can find me on Twitter, or reach me by email.

Additionally, I'm a member of Writer's HQ and have found their free courses, supportive community and weekly writing prompts to be an incredible source of inspiration. If you're starting out with this creative writing malarkey, I highly recommend you join.
